Ronald "Ron" Stewart Wright

Ronald Stewart Wright, 80, of Tuscarawas, Ohio, passed away at his home with his loving family at his side on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Born February 17, 1946 in Dennison, Ohio, he was a son of the late Charles K. and Golda Mae (née Abbuhl) Wright.

Ron grew up in the Twin City area and was a 1964 graduate of Uhrichsville High School before marrying the love of his life, Linda C. (née Ickes) Wright on January 9, 1965. Together, they moved to Orange County, California in 1965 and made their home there until returning to Tuscarawas County in 1979.

Ron worked internationally in the petroleum industry – a career which he truly loved, especially the travel that it offered him. In his spare time, he loved golf and cheering on his favorite team, the Oakland Raiders. He will be remembered for his generous nature as a truly giving man who loved taking care of people.

In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by their daughter, Karen (Neil) Rager; grandchildren, Corbin Lamonica, Danara (companion, Chad Caldwell) Lamonica, Dillon (Brandi) Rager, Dakota (companion, Grace) Rager, and Ryan Rager; and four great-granddaughters. He also leaves behind a large extended family which includes many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by several siblings, as well.

According to Ron’s wishes, he will be cremated without a public visitation or service. His family plan to celebrate his life privately. Those wishing to honor his memory are encouraged to do so to Traditions Hospice, 238 Front Ave S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
