Ronald K. Pfister

Ronald K. Pfister, 76, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Twin City Hospital in Dennison, O. after an extended illness.

Born December 31, 1933 in Tuscarawas, O., he was a son of the late Elmer C. and Alice Lucille (Klein) Pfister.

A resident of Tuscarawas County for much of his life, Ron was a graduate of Tuscarawas-Warwick High School in the class of 1951. After high school, he served his country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the Korean War. He was a computer programmer with Xerox for many years.

On November 23, 1960, Ron married the former Linda G. Kennedy who preceded him in death on February 13, 1992. They are survived by two sons, Ronald K. Pfister, Jr. who resides in the Netherlands and Det. Mark E. Pfister and his wife, Tami, of Plant City, Fla., and two grandchildren, Morgan and Gage Pfister.

Ron is also survived by his brother, Eugene C. Pfister and his wife, Sharon, of Uhrichsville, and a number of other extended family members including nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services for Ron, officiated by Pastor Florence McNutt, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison with visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Interment will be in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Those wishing to honor Ron’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
