Ronald Lynn Myers, 87, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, following a period of declining health. Born July 11, 1938 in Riverside near Uhrichsville, he was a son of the late Jacob Francis Myers and Martha Isabelle (Betts) Myers Reffett.
With the exception of 1956 to 1959 while he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, Ron was a lifelong resident of Uhrichsville. A hard-working man his entire life, he had a long career at Bar Met in Uhrichsville and, in retirement, enjoyed being a security guard at New Towne Mall. Ron proudly instilled that work ethic in all of his children, always stressing how important it was to do an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay. While his son served in the Uhrichsville Police Department, Ron volunteered countless hours as an Auxiliary Uhrichsville Police Officer.
Ron will be remembered for his strong moral compass that allowed him instinctually to see right from wrong – and once he’d reached his decision, he would not be swayed for love nor money! He was a man of deep and sincere faith, and was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Ron loved to putter in his yard – taking care of his flowers and keeping things immaculate! He was also happy when he could be outside playing with his dear canine companion, Rainy.
On April 29 1972, Ron married the former Rose Pauletta Baker Vessels who survives him at their home. He is also survived by their children, James “Bucky” (Holly) Myers, Todd Myers, Jovana (Kelly) Groah, Janellen Elmore, Ronna Lynn (Dan) Piccin, and Jerry (Renée) Myers; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Hindman and Rosanne Fails; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his son, Shawn Myers; granddaughter, Tesha Armstrong-Speedy; son-in-law, Greg Elmore; and all of his brothers, Gary Myers, David “Tyke” Myers, Richard Myers, Alvin Myers, Dwayne Myers, Scott Reffett, and Steve Reffett.
Father Jimmy Hatfield will officiate the funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison where his family will receive callers from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., prior to the Mass. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Those wishing to honor Ron’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Immaculate Conception Church.
