Robin R. Shamel

Robin Renee Shamel, 66, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center in Canton, after a lengthy illness. Born July 18, 1957 in Canton, Ohio, she was a daughter of Ruth Eileen (Schupp) Ryan and the late Rex Roger Ryan.

Robin was a lifelong Twin City resident and a 1975 graduate of Claymont High School. During her high school years, she was a proud member of the Claymont Marching 100. For a number of years, Robin was employed by Anderson Medical. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who had been a member of Park Christian Church in Dennison for many years. Robin loved her Lord and Savior and is living with Him now where there is no more pain or suffering.

On September 18, 1982, Robin married Harold Junior Shamel, II who survives her along with their son, Edward Shamel; granddaughter, Lacey Shamel; and great-grandchildren, Zamarion, Zalayah, Zakari, and Zahavah Suggs. Robin is also survived by her sisters, Nan (Jerry) Stanley and Brenda (Dan) Shaver; brother, Gary Ryan; brothers- and sister-in-law, Chris and Melissa Shamel and Jeff Shamel; and a number of nieces and nephews, as well as her mother, Ruth Ryan.

In keeping with Robin’s wishes, cremation is planned. Pastor Dave Bryan will officiate a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, at Park Christian Church where Robin’s family will receive callers for an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Park Christian Church, 236 Miller Ave., Dennison, OH  44621.
