Robin Edwin Eckhardt

Robin Edwin Eckhardt, 66, of New Philadelphia, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019, at Union Hospital in Dover. Born May 10, 1953 in Dennison, he was the son of the late James and Edna (Hodkinson) Eckhardt.

With the exception of a short time that he lived in Colorado, Rob was a lifelong area resident. He worked for the Uhrichsville City Department and Twin City Water Department for a number of years, and had previously been employed by Bowerston Shale Company. He loved fishing and hunting, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He was a Christian man who had attended several area churches.

Rob’s surviving family includes his children, Shannon (Shawn) Segee and Matthew (Alexandra) Eckhardt; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Mitchell, Daniel, Jaden and Liam, with another expected; sisters, Barb Septer and Gail Eckhardt; many nieces and nephews; longtime, dear friends, Randy, Denny, John, and Mike; many friends at Schoenbrunn Healthcare where he had resided; and Linda King with whom he enjoyed a love/hate relationship for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Riley; a niece; and several nephews.

In keeping with Rob’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. His life will be celebrated in a private service at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his family in care of the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, 26 Grant St., Dennison, OH  44621-1269 to help defray the cost of his final expenses.
