Robert L. Haney

December 19, 1950 — February 1, 2024

Robert Lee Haney, 73, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born December 19, 1950 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Edward Franklin Haney, Sr. and Margaret Frances (Garbrandt) Haney.

Bob was a lifelong Tuscarawas County resident who had worked as a mechanic for a number of local auto repair shops, including Ziegler Tire, before being employed as a supervisor at Wayne Dalton for a number of years. In his spare time, he loved fishing, hunting, and going shopping – especially his outings with his brother, Randy. Most of all, he treasured the time that he spent with his family.

He will be deeply missed by his surviving family which includes his wife, Jean Ann (Boor) Haney whom he married on August 16, 2007; children, Deanna (Donald) Shock, Rob (Christine) Haney, Angel Burdette, Charles Corbin, and Tammy (Harlow Ruckman) Corbin; grandchildren, Leeann Baus, Katelyn Smitley, Evan Cross, Nicole Shafer, Andrew Clum, Spencer Haney, Savanah Woods, Shania Woods, Kristopher Burdette, Tyler Kramer, Ray Burdette, Lexie Burdette, Tony Fitak, Brian Clam, Kaylea Todd, and Matthew Ruckman; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Karter, Brayson, Jaxxon, Kingsley, and Weston; brothers, Randy (Charlotte) Haney, James (Jo Ellen) Haney, and John (Laurie) Haney; sister-in-law, Paula Hensley; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Oakley, who was his devoted canine companion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Haney, Jr., and two grandchildren, Theresa and Bradley Shock.

According to Bob’s wishes, he will be interred in West Union Cemetery near Gilmore where Pastor John Stevenson will officiate a private, family graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his family in care of the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home, 26 Grant St., Dennison, OH  44621 to help defray the cost of his final expenses.
