Robert D. Gastaldo, Jr., 39, of 421 Jewett Avenue, Dennison, O., died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in his home.

The son of Robert D. Gastaldo, Sr. of Uhrichsville and Darlene J. (Parks) Gastaldo, also of Uhrichsville, he was born May 25, 1969 in Dennison, O.

Bobby was a lifelong resident of the Twin City area and was a graduate of Claymont High School in 1987 before attending Findlay College.

On June 3, 2001, he married the former Taneka C. Cummings of Dennison with whom he enjoyed seven years of marriage.

He is preceded in death by four grandparents, Florindo and Anna Gastaldo, Donald R. Parks, Sr. and Eugene Drabic; two uncles, Donald R. Parks, Jr. and Frankie J. Parks; and his best friend, Greg Deems.

Bobby leaves behind a family who will miss him sadly, including his wife, Taneka; two sons, Seth and Bryce Gastaldo; his mother, Darlene (Parks) Gastaldo of Uhrichsville; his father, Robert D. Gastaldo, Sr. of Uhrichsville; his maternal grandmother, Virginia Drabic of Dennison; mother-in-law, Denise (Jack) Keffer of Uhrichsville; father-in-law, Mike Cummings of Dennison; two sisters, Anna (Barry Laizure) Gastaldo of New Philadelphia and Regina (Billy) Hanshaw of Uhrichsville; a brother, Mark Gastaldo of Uhrichsville; four sisters-in-law, Michelle (Steve) McPeek of Dover, Shelly (Ed) Cummings of Gilmore, Melissa Maffo of Hilton Head, S. C., and Kendra Zelaya of Duluth, Ga.; two brothers-in-law, Michael Cummings and Richard (Kim) Cummings; four aunts, Elena (Vern) Littleton of Dover, Marvella (Denny) Carpenter of Dennison, Nancy Lake of Dennison, and Judith Reiser of Marietta; an uncle, Frank Gastaldo of Rome, Italy; many cousins, including his two closest, Jenny Kay Wohlheter of Coshocton and Terry Lake of Uhrichsville; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a great niece and a great nephew, who all loved him dearly, as well as many friends.

Bobby was a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend. He loved his children more than anything. He loved spending time with his family. He loved fishing, the outdoors, playing video games with his children, camping, singing songs and making up his own words to the songs. He loved his dog, Cloe Ann, and his family very much and would do anything for them if they were in trouble. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and doing the crossword puzzle in the newspaper everyday. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Bobby loved life and God, he prayed every night.

Services for Bobby, officiated by Pastor Vince Bagley, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 20, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to his family in care of the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home to help defray the cost of his final expenses.
