Richard Gordon Wyatt, 72, of Dover, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born November 22, 1948 in Pax, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Harry Gordon and Louise (Willey) Wyatt.
A 1968 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, Rick was a local resident for 53 years and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in New Philadelphia. He was a welder and pipe fitter with Union Local #495 out of Cambridge for many years until his retirement. Rick was a motorcycle enthusiast who was a member of the BSA Owners Club in Toronto, Ohio. He enjoyed flat track and motocross racing, as well as pretty much anything to do with motorcycles.
On November 1, 1969, Rick wed Jackie (Kight) Wyatt with whom he recently celebrated 51 years of loving marriage. He is also survived by their children, Matthew Wyatt and Leslie (companion, Jack Korns) Wyatt; grandchildren, Skye, Benaiah, and Saralyn; and great-grandchildren, Liam, Lennon, and Emma with another expected. Rick’s siblings, Ron (Debbie) Wyatt and Linda (Kenny) Miller, and several nieces and nephews complete his family.
According to Rick’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. A memorial service is planned for a future date when his family and friends may safely gather to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
