Richard E. Sinden

Richard Eugene Sinden, 69, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at the Community Hospice Truman House. Born October 3, 1947 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Paul Everett Sinden and Rhoda Elizabeth (Jenkins) Zay-Sinden.

Richard was a member of the New Philadelphia AmVets and an avid fisherman. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, was forever a Cleveland Browns fan, and loved spending time with his family. Richard is survived by his daughters, Bridgett (Tim) Harding of New Philadelphia, Becky Sinden of Massillon, Susan Sinden of Florida, and Stacy (Butch) Goudy of Midvale. Richard is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and his close friend and former wife, Zora Toj of New Philadelphia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard Elvis Sinden; two brothers; and three half-sisters.


Services, officiated by Lt. Andrew Allen, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside his parents in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
