Richard Rupp

Richard L. “Dick” Rupp, of Tippecanoe, O., formerly of Rittman, O., passed away on July 1, 2010 at Twin City Hospital in Dennison, O., after a battle with cancer.

Born October 3, 1952 in Wadsworth, O., he was the son of the late Richard and Helen (Lessley) Rupp.

Out of his great love of the outdoors, Dick decided to move to Tippecanoe a number of years ago. He was a master carpenter who also loved to play the guitar. His greatest role in life was as a devoted father, friend, and teacher to his sons.

His surviving family includes two sons, Nate Rupp and his wife, Casey, of Cadiz and Jeraud Rupp of Tippecanoe; a daughter, Starlyn Smallwood of Rittman; two grandsons, Lance Rupp of Cadiz and Isaiah Evans of Rittman; two sisters, Toni (Tim) Schnedetz of Creston, O. and Beth (Jim) Rowe of Tomball, Tx.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Dick’s wishes, he has been cremated without a public visitation. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at Dick’s home on July 17 starting at 2:00 p.m. A covered dish is welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his family in care of the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, 26 Grant St., Dennison, OH 44621-1269 to help defray the cost of his final expenses.
