Richard Jeffrey “Dick” Treacle, 65, of Uhrichsville, passed away at his home on Friday, May 5, 2017. Born April 4, 1952, in Dennison, he was a son of Myrtle A. (Quillen) Treacle of Uhrichsville and the late Richard Frank Treacle. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles J. Treacle. He is survived by his fiancée, Virginia Cale, of the home.
Dick was a 1970 graduate of Claymont High School before attending Kent State University, and had been employed by Echo 24 for over 20 years. He was a longtime member of F.O.E. #424 in Uhrichsville where he was a faithful and dedicated, serving in many offices and volunteering countless hours to the lodge’s charities. On April 29, 2017, he was inaugurated as Ohio’s statewide president of the Elks, a goal that he had worked toward for many years. He leaves behind many dear friends.
In keeping with Dick’s wishes, he will be cremated without a public visitation or service, and will be interred with his father in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elks State Major Project for Cerebral Palsy.
