Rhea M. Stinard, 83, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, left her earthly life behind on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio, while surrounded by her loving family. Born October 12, 1941 in Uhrichsville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late George Washington and Mamie Lorena (Utter) Striker.
On February 20, 1960, Rhea married James Paul Stinard with whom she enjoyed over 47 years of loving marriage until his passing on August 15, 2008. They are survived by their daughter, Irma West; son, Tim (Hattie) Stinard; grandchildren, Cody West, Kady (Erik) Ward, and Brittany Funk; and great-grandchildren, Andrew Ward, Ashlynn Tipton, and Skyleigh Tipton. Rhea is also survived by her siblings, Betty Stinard, Georgia Mahaffey, George “Buster” (Kathy) Striker, and Art Striker; brother-in-law, Bob Patterson; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear canine companion, Snickers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Rick West; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Irma Dotson, Robert “Buddy” Striker, George Striker, and Mark and Robin Striker; sisters, Barbara Meese and Beatrice Patterson; and brothers-in-law, Stanley Stinard, Lester Mahaffey, and Frank Patterson.
Rhea was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, “GG”, and homemaker who enjoyed fishing and traveling with her husband, as well as spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved.
Pastor Jim Shamel will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Tuesday, April 29, at R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison, Ohio. Her family will receive callers from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Boys and Girls Town.
