Ralph Arthur Hollis, 50, of Dennison, O., died Monday, May 31, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, O., following a long illness.
Born September 3, 1959 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Charles Richard and Bessie Mae (Smith) Hollis.
A lifelong resident of the Twin City area, Ralph attend Dennison and Uhrichsville Schools. He was employed by Leroy Deitrich for fourteen years and had also worked for Wayne Auto for about four years. Ralph was a great lover of animals who especially enjoyed watching and talking to the birds. He also enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Ralph’s surviving family includes his sister, Betty L. Bartimus and her husband, Lewis Jr., of Uhrichsville; a brother-in-law, Emmanuel Perry of New Philadelphia; two nieces, Nicole Lynn Bartimus and Felicia Marie Bartimus; and two great nieces, Kailee Marie Rainsberg and Josalin Nicole Hunter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Diana Perry and Zelma Rae Hollis.
In keeping with Ralph’s wishes, he has been cremated without a public visitation. A memorial service and celebration of his life, officiated by Jeff McDonald, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, in Park Christian Church at Dennison. He will be interred with his family at West Union Cemetery near Gilmore.
Memorial contributions may be made to his family in care of the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home to help defray the cost of his final expenses.
