Peter Cervellini

Peter A. Cervellini, 95, of Dennison, O., passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 after a short illness. Born February 19, 1915 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Bernard “Barney” and Erminia “Anna” (Marziale) Cervellini.

A lifelong resident of Dennison, Peter was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church. After studying at St. Mary’s High School, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon returning home from the war, he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for a time. In his spare time, he enjoyed being with his friends at the Moose Lodge.

Peter’s survivors include his brother, Raymond P. Cervellini of Steubenville; several nieces and nephews, including a dear nephew, Ray Cervellini Jr. of Steubenville; and a dear friend and caregiver, Peggy Roup of Dennison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alfonse Victor Cervellini who was also a decorated veteran of World War II, as well as the Korean Conflict; a sister, Lillian Elizabeth Cervellini; two infant brothers; and a nephew, Bruce Cervellini.

Services for Peter, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, in Immaculate Conception Church at Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison with a military committal service. Family and friends are invited to call at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a Christian Wake Service held at 5:45 p.m. during the visitation. Those wishing to honor Peter’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the charity of their choice.
