Paula Armstrong, 87, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully, while surrounded by her family, at the Ohio’s Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, Ohio, on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Born August 13, 1937 in Waldenburg, Germany, she was the last surviving child of the late Frederick and Anna (Kohler) Goth.
Paula moved to Uhrichsville in the 1950s with her husband, Donald Jurden Armstrong Sr., who preceded her in death on October 11, 1989. They are survived by their daughter, Karen (Harold) Barbee; three sons, Thomas M. Armstrong, Kenneth D. (Lori) Armstrong, and Frederick D. “Rick” (Laura) Armstrong; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Paula was preceded in death by her son, Donald J. “D.J./Donnie” Armstrong Jr., and grandchildren, Keith Allen Armstrong and Tesha Varie Armstrong-Speedy.
While living in Uhrichsville, Paula worked as a bar maid for several local establishments, as well as cleaning for a variety of area businesses and homes. She was a member of the Uhrichsville Women of the Moose and enjoyed playing in their pool league. She also spent many happy times fishing with her husband over the years.
Judy Merrick will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Monday, June 30, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison, Ohio. She will be interred with her late husband at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia, Ohio, on a future date. Paula’s family will receive callers at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service. Charitable contributions honoring Paula’s memory may be made to Ohio’s Hospice Foundation, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663, in lieu of flowers.
