Paul Emerson Parrish, 74, of New Philadelphia, went from the loving arms of his family to the loving arms of his Savior on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia. Born December 2, 1941 in Uhrichsville, he was a son of the late Carl Wallace and Wilma Gene (Sharp) Parrish.
On August 3, 1963, Paul married the former Patty Jean Miller who survives him. He is also survived by his sons, Paul (Christine) Parrish Jr., Ernest (Machele) Parrish and Raymond (Lian) Parrish; daughter, Roberta (Chuck II) Nedrow; grandchildren, Crystal, Ernie Jr., Tasha, Haley, Renita, Raymond Jr., Brandan and Heather; great-grandson, Gabin; brother, Alonzo (Mary) Parrish; sister, Norma (Bill) Morehead; and many nieces and nephews.
Paul proudly served his country in the Air Force from 1959 to 1962. He then had a 37 year career with Dover Chemical, retiring in the late 2000s. He was a longtime member of the Cathedral of Praise in Uhrichsville where he enjoyed singing in the choir. Paul enjoyed bowling, watching Gunsmoke and religious programs and, most of all, he treasured the time that he spent with his grandchildren.
According to Paul’s wishes, he will be cremated without a public visitation. A memorial service and celebration of his life, officiated by Pastor Sandra Hall, will be held at 4pm on Saturday, May 28, 2016 in the Cathedral of Praise, 480 Morris St., Uhrichsville, OH 44683 with an hour of visitation prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cathedral of Praise.
