Patricia Sue Massey

Patricia Sue Massey, 60, of Dennison, was called home to the Lord on Monday, August 10, 2015, from Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia. Born September 19, 1954 in McConnelsville, Ohio, she was a daughter of Mary Lee (Drake) Douthit Short and the late Charles Howard Douthit.

On May 18, 1973, Patricia married Raymond L. Massey, who survives her, and began her life as a devoted wife and homemaker. She was a loving mother to their 12 children who were the center of her life, Naomi (Ryan) Hicks, Susanna (Mark) Cox, Terrell (Jess) Massey, Daniel (Andrea) Massey, Paul (Becky) Massey, Patrick (Deniece) Massey, Morgan Massey, Ramona Massey, Samuel (Austa) Massey, Sarah Massey, Charlie Massey, and Esther Massey; and a wonderful grandmother to Luke, Abbi, Timothy, Emma, Logan, Nate, Anna, Raylyn, Ellie, Caleb, Shayna, and Emery (who is expected). She is also survived by her stepmother, Shirley Douthit; siblings, Judy (Jim) Soukup, Linda Bebout, Peggy (Larry) Keefer, June (Steve) Moore, and Douglas (Carolyn) Douthit; and many nieces and nephews.

For many years, she served alongside her husband who was a pastor with the Southern Baptist Church. In his retirement, they have attended Park Christian Church in Dennison.

Her family will celebrate her life of faith and dedication during a service at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison at 10am on Wednesday, August 12. Interment will follow in Roxford Church Cemetery near Dennison. Family friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5pm to 8pm on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
