Patricia Eileen Bente, 94, of Dennison, Ohio, passed away peacefully just nine days shy of her 95th birthday on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Claymont Health and Rehabilitation in Uhrichsville, Ohio. Born September 29, 1930 in Harrison Co. near Bowerston, Ohio, she was the last surviving child of the late William Andrew and Florence Pauline (Manbeck) Foutz – having been preceded in death by her brother, Myron E. Foutz, and sister and brother-in-law, Virginia J. and Chester Ross.
Pat was a lifelong area resident and a 1948 graduate of Dennison High School. She was employed for many years as the bookkeeper for Hicks Furniture in Dennison, before eventually retiring from CalGas in Uhrichsville. In retirement, she was active with the Claymont Senior Citizens where she enjoyed playing cards and exercising with her friends, as well as going on day trips. She was an avid golfer – both with her husband and in the Big Bend Ladies’ Leagues. She was a faithful fan of The Ohio State University and a devoted pet owner of her cats throughout her life.
On April 16, 1950, Pat married Charles Richard “Dick” Bente with whom she enjoyed nearly 56 years of marriage until his passing on February 4, 2006. They are survived by their daughter, Nanette (husband, Walter) Stewart; grandchildren, Nicole (husband, Dustin Lacy) Giumenti, Todd (companion, Nichole Knowles) Giumenti, and Doug (wife, Misti) Giumenti; great-grandchildren, Saxon and Benz Giumenti, Cruz and Kade Giumenti, Elizabeth Lacy, Crosby and Nora Johns, and Ashton and Breyana Knowles; and several nieces and nephews.
Pastor Dave Bryan will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Tuesday, September 23, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison where Pat’s family will receive callers from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Charitable contributions honoring Pat’s memory may be made to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, 1432 Tall Timber Rd. N.E., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
Pat’s family extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Claymont Health and Rehabilitation where she had resided for the past several years – receiving care like she was a grandmother to her caregivers.
