Norman O. “Red” Adams, 88, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville after a short illness. Born August 5, 1923 in Blandville, W. Va., he was the son of the late Claude E. and Edna (Richards) Adams.
On July 10, 1944, Norman married the former Wilma Marie Bush with whom he enjoyed nearly fifty-six years of loving marriage until her passing on June 26, 2000. A resident of the Twin City area for over sixty years, Norman was retired from Alsco in Gnadenhutten. He had also run a trash route for many years after retiring. He and his wife attended Feed Spring Church for many years. In his spare time, he loved to go fishing. Norman served his country in the Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents and wife, Norman was preceded in death by two sons, Donald L. and Allen R. Adams, and two sisters, Dorothy and Ilene Adams. He is survived by two sisters, Edith Irene and Arretta Georgia Adams of Dennison; a number of extended family members; and his dear friends, Brian and Judy Ann Fanning of Uhrichsville and Doug and Arvilla Harding of Uhrichsville.
Services for Norman, officiated by Pastor Milo Baker, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow beside his beloved wife in Feed Spring Cemetery near Dennison. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7. Those wishing to honor Norman’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the charity of their choice.
