Norman Gene "Butch" Bennington, Jr.

Norman Gene “Butch” Bennington, Jr., 54, of Uhrichsville, passed away suddenly of an apparent heart attack on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison. A son of Jeneanne (Page) Bennington of New Philadelphia and the late Norman Gene Bennington, Sr., Butch was born on June 6, 1960 in Dennison.

Butch was a lifelong resident of Uhrichsville and a 1979 graduate of Claymont High School. For the past 20 years, he was the owner and proprietor of B&B Plumbing and was a longtime member of the Dennison American Italian Club and the Dennison Eagles. Butch cherished the time that he spent with his loving wife of nearly 28 years and loved riding his motorcycle, fishing and gardening with her. He will be remembered by his family, friends, and clients, for his ready smile, his dedication to his work, and his willingness to help anybody who needed him.

On April 3, 1987, he married the former Becky J. Affolter who survives him at their home. He is also survived by his mother, Jeneanne Bennington; son, Norman G. (Karla) Bennington, III of Maryland; grandson, Ethan Bennington of Maryland; sister, Jennie (John) Reichman of New Philadelphia; brother, Will (Bobbie) Bennington of Newcomerstown; numerous nieces and nephews, including his nephew, Don Wright, who was Butch’s right hand man on many occasions; and a large extended family including many –in-laws. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Bennington, Sr., and a sister, Janice Bennington.

In keeping with Butch’s wishes, he has been buried at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville with a private, family graveside service. No public visitation or service is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
