Norma Billie Negri

Norma Billie Negri, 89, of Uhrichsville, was reunited with her late husband, John, on Monday, March 26, 2018, at Hennis Care Centre in Dover. Born September 3, 1928 in Zanesville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late John and Ruth (Maple) Helrigle.

A resident of Uhrichsville for most of her life, Billie attended Uhrichsville High School before beginning a long career in local bakeries, including Quimby’s Bakery, West Pastry and the Buckeye Hotel. She loved caring for her family, and in her spare time, enjoyed crafts, crocheting and coloring.

On August 28, 1948, Billie married John P. Negri with whom she enjoyed nearly 66 years of marriage until his passing on February 18, 2014. They are survived by daughters, Jackie (Carl) Draher, Toni (Scott) Leggett and Terri Campisi; a son-in-law, Dick (Anita) Liggett; grandchildren, Matt (Ruthie) Liggett, Steph (Jai) Joshi, Lisa Campisi, Tony (Renee) Campisi, Cathy (Matt) Konen, Vickie Campisi, Greg Campisi, McKenzie Goodrich, Kimberly (Jason) Edwards and Cayla (Josh) Dilley; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Liggett, and her sister, Donna. Billie’s family wish to express their deep appreciation to everyone at Hennis for their loving care during her extended stay there.

Services, officiated by Rev. Thomas Dunkle, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church’s Building Fund and to Hennis Care Centre for the Alzheimer’s Association.
