Norma D. Lake, 91, Uhrichsville, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014, at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia, after a brief illness. Born September 7, 1923 in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late James Albert and May Belle (Warner) Harshey.
  
  
  Norma will be deeply missed by her surviving family which includes her children: Peggy Milburn (companion, Ray), Melvin Lake (companion, Barb), and Gayla (Mike) Fox; grandchildren: Debbie, Chrissy, Greg, Missy, Terry, Teresa, Lisa, Kerry, Brian, Brandie, Kim, Nikki, Jimmy, Lacie, and Mikey; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; a brother: Jerry Harshey; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer S. Lake, who died June 1, 1964; sisters: Betty “Becky” Grezlik and Catherine Smitley; and brothers: Robert Sr., Gene Sr., and Glenn Harshey.
  
  
  A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Norma loved caring for her family, especially when in the kitchen preparing delicious homemade meals for them. She was a resident of the area throughout her life and was a former member of the Uhrichsville Moose and Eagles Ladies’ Auxiliaries.
  
  
  Services, officiated by Pastor Lisa M. Meese, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
