Nina Una Haney, 78, of Uhrichsville, was called home to the Lord on Sunday, June 5, 2022, from the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, following a lengthy illness. Born August 23, 1943 in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Nellie (Taylor) Morrison.
On February 16, 1965, Nina married Jimmie Haney who survives her at their home. She is also survived by 6 children, Kelly (Darinel) Hernandez, Bill Haney, David (Jen) Haney, Donnie Haney, Jody (Rex) Barr, and Jeannie (Derek) Albright; many grandchildren, including Leticia, Arvin (Grace), Oscar, Tasha, and Megan; sister, Izena “Ikie” Couch; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Mickey Moore and Punky Sharkey who were like sisters to her. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Angel Haney; brother, Robert Morrison, Sr.; and sisters, Betty Romig, Ruth Belknap, Sivilla Gnagy, Marylou Elliott, Theresa “Terry” Bargar, Hilda Harding, Mildred “Pete” Ricklic, and Hazel Carpenter.
Nina was a lifelong area resident and 1961 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Nina was a Certified Nurses’ Aide who worked for several area nursing homes over the years. She enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and old movies, doing word puzzles, and music, and she loved attending 11 th Street Church of God in Uhrichsville.
Services, officiated by Pastor Earl Miller, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
