Nick Harry Carter

Nick Harry Carter, 85, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio of Covid-19. He was born August 5, 1935 in Dennison, Ohio to the late Lloyd Samuel and Martha Luella (Morris) Carter. He was a 1953 graduate of Dennison High School before proudly serving his country in the U. S. Army from 1958 to 1960. Nick worked for the Plumbers Pipe Fitters Local #495 for 43 years. He loved to garden and mow grass.

On September 4, 1998, Nick married the former Sandra J. Jones who survives him, as well as his daughter, Joni McClellan of Pataskala, Ohio; a stepson, David (Mindy) Hoopingarner of Dennison; three grandchildren, Erika and Mason Hoopingarner of Dennison and Abby (Mitch) Wilson of Etna; a niece and a nephew; and close friends, Lee Hampton and Pam and Lonnie Sippel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Monty J. Carter; a stepson, Jeffrey Jones; and his sister, Joyce Polen.

Pastor Jim McConnell will officiate a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021, in Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery in Gnadenhutten. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH  44663.
