Nancy L. Meek

Nancy L. Meek, 63, of Uhrichsville, passed away peacefully at her home while surrounded by family and friends on Friday, February 18, 2011. Born May 18, 1947 at Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Virgil and Leona M. (Mahaffey) Lindon.

A life resident of our area, Nancy was a 1966 Gnadenhutten HS graduate and a member of Mt. Carmel U.M.C. With her family being the most important part of her life, Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Nancy had owned and operated the Freeport General Store, had been a member of the Freeport V.F.W. Ladies Aux., and enjoyed wintering in Florida.

On April 20, 1968, Nancy married John H. Meek who survives her at their home. In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her three children, son Robert J. Meek of Londonderry, OH, daughter Lori A. Meek and companion Ralph Kramer of Uhrichsville, and son John K. and wife Angie Meek of Gnadenhutten; grandchildren, John, Nancy, Josh, Emily, Ally, J.J., Ryley, and Bayley “Skipper” Meek; great grandchildren, Keagan and Natalie; brother, Loren V. Lindon of Gnadenhutten; sister, Sandra K. and husband Lewis Hindman of Port Washington; special step-sister, Connie S. Rennicker of Uhrichsville; and numerous sisters and brothers in law, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her mother and father in law, Mary and Lonnie Meek, Sr.

In keeping with her wishes, Nancy will be cremated without any visitation or service. Family and friends are invited to call on her family at their home anytime from Sunday, February 20 until Wednesday February 23, 2011.
