Nancy F. Johnson, 90, of Uhrichsville, O., left this world behind to be reunited with the love of her life, her dear husband, Bud, on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at New Dawn Health Care Center in Dover, O., following a period of declining health.

Born September 19, 1918 in Dennison, O., she was a daughter of the late John Arbuckle and Florence (VanOstran) Fouts.

Nancy was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School in the class of 1936 before obtaining her associates degree and teaching certificate at Ohio University. Prior to her marriage, she taught at the Maple Grove School and later taught for Claymont Public Schools for many years.

On August 28, 1940, she married William Earl “Bud” Johnson in Greenup, Ky. They enjoyed nearly sixty-seven years of marriage together until his passing on June 4, 2007. They are survived by a son, Todd Earl Johnson and his wife, Lynette, of Topton, N.C.; a daughter, Kristine Terakedis and her husband, Sonny, of Uhrichsville; four grandchildren, Nicholas E. Johnson and his wife, Tonya, of Andrews, N.C., Karl C. Johnson of Conway, S.C., Vincent M. Terakedis and his wife, Shannon, of Uhrichsville and Aris C. Terakedis and his wife, Brandi, of Dennison; two great grandchildren, Arianna Terakedis and Alec Terakedis; and three step great granddaughters, Brittany Link, Beth Ann Collins and Katie Collins.

Nancy is also survived by a sister, Helen Capes Davis of Cuyahoga Falls; a sister-in-law, Mary Jean Fouts Barr of New Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Thompson, and a brother, Bob Fouts.

Nancy and Bud lived in the Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. area for thirty-seven years before returning to Ohio in 2007. Locally, Nancy had been a member of the Jr. Sorosis Club and the Review Club, and she had volunteered as a Grey Lady at Twin City Hospital.

In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, she has been cremated and a private family graveside service will be held. She will be interred with her beloved husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Uhrichsville First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 426, Uhrichsville, OH 44683.
