Nancy A. Heavilin

Nancy Ann Heavilin, 72, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville on Saturday, April 30, 2011, just a few short weeks after losing her beloved sisters, Ella and Elsie Heavilin. Born July 22, 1938 in Dennison, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Martha E. (Gatchell) Heavilin.

Nancy’s surviving family includes two brothers, Jack P. (Mary) Heavilin of New Philadelphia and Harry L. (Suzie) Heavilin of Uhrichsville; a sister-in-law, Betty Jane Heavilin of New Philadelphia; an aunt, Marie Heavilin of Bowerston; and many dear nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry L. and Jesse J. Heavilin; three sisters, Wava, Elsie and Ella Heavilin; and two nephews, Randy and Bill Heavilin.

A lifelong resident of the Uhrichsville, Nancy was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School in the class of 1957 before beginning her career with the Hall Glove Factory where she worked for many years. She was also a security officer for the State Garage for a time. She was a devoted and loving sister, sharing a home with her sisters her entire life. She cherished the time that she spent with her family and especially enjoyed being with her nieces and nephews. Nancy loved flowers, and she and her sisters took special care of their deceased loved ones’ graves faithfully.

Services for Nancy, officiated by Rev. Mark Unrue, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. A reception at Uhrichsville Presbyterian Church will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her family, in care of the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, to help defray the cost of her final expenses.
