Myrtle Raedell Pounds, 89, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly a Tuscarawas County, Ohio resident, passed away at her home on Friday, October 29, 2021, after a period of declining health. Born July 18, 1932 in Crescent, Missouri, she was a daughter of the late Milbern McCoy and Nan Elizabeth (Murray) McCoy Gudermuth.
Myrtle will be deeply missed by her surviving family which includes her son, Murray Pounds; daughter, Cathline Greene with whom she had resided; grandchildren, Anissa (Mike) Billiter, Tiffany Mells, Tara Raskey, and Linda Warden; great-grandchildren, Kristin and Brian Billiter, Willow Raskey, and Sapphire, Terron, Tiara, and McKenna Mells; and great-great-grandchildren, Mason, Peyton, Everleigh, Lily, and Skyla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Phillip and Leonard Pounds.
While living in Tuscarawas County, Myrtle worked at U.S. Chemical & Plastics in Gnadenhutten for many years. She loved Yeshua (Jesus) with all of her heart, and her family is thankful that someday soon they will be reunited with her because of His sacrifice. After her declining health made it impossible to attend her favorite Sabbath group, she and her daughter Cathline would enjoy watching live on YouTube every Saturday, Rabbi Greg Hershburg from Beth Yeshua International in Macon, Georgia. She admired how he uncompromisingly preaches the Gospel of the Messiah and loved his quirky sense of humor.
In keeping with Myrtle’s wishes, she will be interred in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery beside her beloved sons. Dear family friend, Michael Snyder, will officiate a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 8, at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice through their website, https://tidewellfoundation.org/donate/ and to Beth Yeshua International through their website, https://www.bethyeshuainternational.org/giving/ .
