Molly Ann Ueltschy, 71, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2008, in her daughter’s home, following a lengthy illness. Born August 12, 1937 in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of Gertrude M. (Page) Davis Griest of Uhrichsville and the late Delbert Davis.
Molly was a graduate of Uhrichsville High school in the class of 1955 and a lifelong resident of the Twin City Area. She was a longtime employee of Twin City Hospital in Dennison where she began working in 1974. She was a nurse in the emergency room department for many of those years. Previously, she had also worked at RCA, as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell and for the Nightingale Nursing Home. She obtained her L.P.N. degree from Canton City School of Nursing in 1991. In addition to her nursing career, Molly was a loving wife, mother and homemaker who loved traveling, reading and doing crafts.
On September 27, 1958, she married Harold Thomas “Shotgun” Ueltschy with whom she enjoyed nearly forty-seven years of marriage until his passing on July 25, 2005. They are survived by five children, Eric S. Ueltschy of Dennison, Lori A. Burdette and her husband, David, of Uhrichsville, Kara M. Lankford of Orlando, Fla., Michael T. Ueltschy of Uhrichsville, and Matthew D. Ueltschy and his wife, Julie, of Uhrichsville; ten grandchildren, Nicole M. Villwock and her husband, Kenneth, Justin W. and Andrew M. Willis, Stephanie M. and Elizabeth N. Lankford, Logan M., Jordan M., Mitchell A. and Mackenzi E. Ueltschy, and Molly Ann Johnson; and eight great grandchildren, Maci A., Kennedy N. and Maddox T. Villwock, Gunner W. and Kannen W. Willis, Angelica R. Bernard, and Isabella A. and Ethan Johnson.
Molly is also survived by her mother, Gertrude M. Griest of Uhrichsville; two sisters, Midge Brainerd and her husband, John, of Navarre, and Karla Grandison and her husband, Rusty, of Uhrichsville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepfather by whom she was raised, Karl Griest, and two brothers, John “Boody” and Lloyd Griest.
Molly’s family is also grateful for the loving care given to her during her illness by her longtime best friend and caretaker, Wilma Bridgeman, as well as caretakers, Connie Devore, Dawn Enochs and Donna Vermillion.
In keeping with Molly’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation. On Thursday, November 6, 2008, at noon, family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service, officiated by Rev. Mark Unrue, in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery where she will be interred with her beloved, late husband. Immediately following the service, a gathering will be held in the fellowship hall of Newport United Methodist Church for a time of reminiscences and refreshments.
