Mitchell D. Crites

Mitchell DeWayne Crites, 38, of Dennison, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, June 23, 2014. Born August 25, 1975 in Dennison, he was a son of Donald William Crites of Dry Ridge, Kentucky and the late Judith Sharon (Withers) Cook.

Mitch lived in many areas of the country including Texas, Kansas and Kentucky in addition to the local area. He was a graduate of high school in Baxter Springs, Kansas before earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees which allowed him to enjoy a career in information technology.

On November 12, 2013, Mitch married the former Rachel M. Burnsworth who survives him at their home. He is also survived by a daughter, Morgan Crites of Hollister, Missouri, and many extended family members including step-siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his father and stepmother, Donald and Lori Crites. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Crites, and his mother.

Services for Mitch, officiated by Pastor Milo Baker, will be held at 1pm on Saturday, June 28, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be 11am-1pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mitch’s family, in care of the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, to help defray the cost of his final expenses.
