Mindy Kay Markwell, 60, of Uhrichsville, passed away on March 14, 2026. Born June 10, 1965, in Dennison, Mindy was a daughter of the late John Wilbert “Jack” Hunter and Joyce Ann (Greenwalt) Hunter.

Mindy was a graduate of Claymont High School, Class of 1984. Predominantly a homemaker, she will also be remembered working in local food service, including Arby’s, and was employed for 31 Incorporated in Newcomerstown for 15 years. Mindy was known for her love of family and her appreciation of country music, especially being a devoted fan of George Strait.

She is survived by her daughters, Kayla Cugliari and Aerial Markwell; her grandchildren, Camila, Gunnar, and Harrison Cugliari, Katalaya Bloom, and Dwayne Wright; brother, John W. Hunter; and sister, Wendy Hogue. She is also survived by her niece and nephew, John Hayes and Allyssa Hogue (companion, Keiron O’Connor) and a great-niece, Emelia O’Connor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Phillip Hogue and Loren “Butch” Hayes, Jr.

In keeping with Mindy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made in Mindy’s memory to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society.
