Mina Bell Burdette

Mina Bell Burdette, 84, of Tippecanoe, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born June 21, 1933 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late John Logan Beamer and Lizzie Ann (Garabrandt) Beamer Brown. The last of her generation, she was also preceded in death by 10 siblings, as well as her sons, Chalmers “Bub” and Paul “Steven” Burdette, and a grandson, Terrence Burdette.

On December 16, 1952, Mina married Harry Burdette, Jr. who survives her at their home. She is also survived by their daughters, Mary (Ron) Wright, Ida (companion, Allen) Simpson and Lizzie (Tim) Meade; daughters-in-law, Janet and Martha; grandchildren, Phillip, Missy, Jake, Heather, Lisa, Joseph, Travis, Troy, Tiffy and Dustin; several great-grandchildren; an expected great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and a beloved cat, Stella.

Mina was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose world revolved around her family. She loved to crochet and play cards, and especially enjoyed her travels to Boston with her daughters. She attended Uhrichsville Foursquare Gospel Church.

Services, officiated by Pastor Florence McNutt, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Deersville-Patterson Union Cemetery in Deersville. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice and Uhrichsville Foursquare Gospel Church.
