Mildred Viola Spinell

Mildred Viola Spinell, 95, of Uhrichsville passed away on August 12, 2018 at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, surrounded by her family. Born June 15, 1923 in Tippecanoe she was a daughter of the late Michael John and Julia Ann (Gurgul) Kleski. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, John, Stanley, Ann, and Julie Ann Kleski, Sophie Couch, and Elizabeth Dawson.

Mildred was the dietary manager for Twin City Hospital for 23 years and had also cooked and baked for the hospital and Cadiz-Pike Inn. She previously worked at the Scio Pottery and Hercules during WWII during which time she also volunteered at the Dennison Canteen. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church for 30 years and was previously a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Mildred loved making pizzelles for her family and enjoyed playing volleyball.

On January 7, 1946 she married Michael Charles Spinell who preceded her in death on October 7, 2009. They are survived by their children, Michael (Karen) Spinell of New Philadelphia, and Karen (Jerry) Milburn of Uhrichsville; grandchildren, Kelli (Neil) Moser of Rockwell NC, Kristi (Scott) Braskett of Dublin OH, Todd (Susann) Spinell of Concord NC, and Scott (Joanne) Milburn of Dennison. Great-grandchildren, Megan and Ryan Moser, Kate and Erin Braskett, Nora Spinell, Jared (Danielle) Milburn, and Janay (Tyler) Skipper; great-great grandchildren, Madden and Maggie Milburn and Emri and Ava Skipper; sister-in-law, Laura Spinell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Father Tom Gardner will celebrate the funeral Mass on Thursday, August 16, at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM during which time a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:45 PM on Wednesday at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. On Thursday morning there will be an hour of visitation starting at 9 AM. The funeral procession will depart from the funeral home for Sacred Heart Church at 10 AM.
