Mildred F. Coventry

Mildred F. Coventry, 75, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away at her home while surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 3, 2012. Born September 24, 1936 in Newport, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Enos A. and Edna T. (Green) Dale.

Mildred was the loving wife of Walter Dale Coventry who preceded her in death on March 22, 2007 after enjoying fifty-three years of marriage since their wedding on March 10, 1954. They were blessed with five children, Mrs. Mike (Linda) Meredith of Abilene, TX, Tim Coventry of Uhrichsville, Cindy Long who preceded her in death, Mrs. Mick (Susan) Bolon with whom she had resided and Peggy Coventry of Uhrichsville; thirteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren with another expected. She is also survived by a sister, Doris Roberts of Newport; brother, John Dale and his wife, Lela, of Kimbolton; son-in-law, Ed Long and his wife, Iris, of Gnadenhutten; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, husband and daughter, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Dale; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and John Stull; and brother-in-law, Don Roberts.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker, Mildred had also worked as a dietician for the Romig’s Nursing Homes in New Philadelphia, Uhrichsville and Newport for many years. She was a longtime member of Newport United Methodist Church who loved going fishing in her younger years, and most recently drew great pleasure from watching the horses on her property.

Services for Mildred, officiated by Pastor Brian Flood, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
