Michael P. Miley

Michael P. Miley, 34, a six year resident of Dover, Ohio, died suddenly on August 13, 2012 in Bolivar. Born October 8, 1977 in Dover, he was a son of John W. Miley of Sherrodsville and Ruth Ann (Mercer) Miley of Bowerston.

A resident of Sherrodsville for much of his life, Mike was a graduate of Conotton Valley High School in the class of 1996. Shortly after graduating, he began his career with Hilltop Energy where he worked for nearly seventeen years and had been a site manager until his death. During high school, Mike played varsity football and began his lifelong passion for weightlifting. In addition to being an avid fitness enthusiast, he also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and many friends.

Mike is survived by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Jamie Miley of Sherrodsville; nephew and niece, Blake and Madison Miley of Sherrodsville; uncles and aunts, Ed and Vicki Miley of Bolivar, Leroy and Joann Mercer of Gastonia, N.C., Ronnie and Twila Mercer of Bowerston and Fred and Louise Battles of Bowerston; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Grace Miley and Harry and Margaret Mercer.

Family and friends are invited to call at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15. A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Tom Dawson, will be held at noon on Thursday, August 16, in Conotton Cemetery near the village of Conotton. Those wishing to honor Mike’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the charity of their choice.
