Michael A. “Mike” Hoover, 58, of Uhrichsville passed away at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center on February 26, 2015 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Dover on November 4, 1956 he was a son of the late Wilbert Oliver and Rosa Ann (DiGenova) Hoover.
Mike graduated from Tuscarawas Central Catholic Schools in 1975 and worked for 34 years at Kimble as a loader operator. He was a train enthusiast, loved building anything out of wood and enjoyed attending local flea markets and auctions.
On August 28, 1998 he married the former Connie J. Parrish who survives him of their home. He is also survived by his children, Derrick “Red” (Tasha) Hoover of Dover, Lance Hoover of New Philadelphia, Roy (Janet) Tedrow of Newcomerstown, and Leslie (Jeff) Vance of Uhrichsville; grandchildren, Anthony Hoover, Jordan and Landon Hoover, Jacie and Jacob Tedrow, Zac, Ashton, and Grayson Truex and Dakota Vance; sister, Kathy Ritenour; Father-in-law, Ronald Parrish, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Lola Hoover, Vicki (J.W.) Lorenz, and Elaine (Eugene) Penrod; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Kim) Parrish, Jr. and Roger (Jen) Parrish; his faithful doughnut dog, Sadie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by brothers, James and Wilbert Hoover, Jr.; nephew, Richie Hoover, and brother-in-law, Max Ritenour.
Services for Mike, officiated by Pastor Rob Braden, will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Family and friends are invited to call at visitation on Saturday from 2-4 pm in the funeral home. In keeping with his wishes, Mike will be cremated following services. Those wishing to honor his memory with a memorial donation are encouraged to do so to the American Cancer Society.
