Michael L. Edwards

Michael L. Edwards, 52, of Uhrichsville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia. Born September 22, 1960 in Dennison, he was a son of Gary J. Edwards of Uhrichsville and the late Linda D. (Wolfe) Edwards.

Mike was a lifelong resident of Rush Township and a graduate of Claymont High School. He had many hobbies, his favorite two being spending time with his family and being an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns. Michael devoted his life to his children who surrounded him with love and care. He was a very special man, kind and loving, and will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him. He worked in the local construction industry and loved farming, as well. He attended Rush Community Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to his mother, Mike was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife, Melanie (Stewart) Edwards in February of 2010. His surviving family includes his father, Gary J. Edwards; a brother, David (Star) Edwards of Rush Township; daughter, Kourtney Legg; sons, Kyle Legg of New Philadelphia and Kelly (Lauren) Legg of Brooksville, Ky.; grandchildren, Kandice, Carson and Kaylee Legg, and Jace Gribbins; and a number of other extended family members.

According to Mike’s wishes, he has been cremated without a public visitation or service. Those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Drive, S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663. Mike’s family wish to express their gratitude to the staff of Community Hospice for the great care that they provided during his final illness.
