Melvin S. Lake

Melvin Spencer Lake, 74, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Born August 11, 1951 in Dennison, Ohio, he was the son of the late Spencer Sherman and Norma Dale (Harshey) Lake.

Melvin made the Twin City area his home throughout his life and was a 1969 graduate of Claymont High School. He worked for several area manufacturing businesses, as well as for Ron’s Heating and Cooling, before eventually operating his own company as a self-employed contractor. He was a longtime member of the Uhrichsville Eagles. Most of all, Melvin loved everything to do with cars – especially fast cars! He spent many happy hours working on his cars and was an avid fan of stock car racing.

He leaves behind five children, Melissa Lake, Teresa (companion, Donald Robillard) Lake, Terry (Christine) Lake, Lisa J. Cummings, and Kerry Burton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gayla (Mike) Fox and Virginia Armstrong; many nieces and nephews – including special nieces, Lacie Cross and Nikki McKenzie; his former spouse, Nancy Lake; and his late companion’s children, Tiffany, Judy, and Paul Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Barb Austin, and her daughter, Michelle, as well as his sister, Peggy Milburn.

Pastor Lisa Meese will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Monday, February 23, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside his father in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service.
