Melody S. Dickey

Melody Shiére Dickey, 53, of Tippecanoe, passed away peacefully at her home on October 19, 2014. Born May 6, 1961 in Cambridge, she was a daughter of Amy (Pittman) Lane of New Philadelphia and Charles “Chuck” Burdett of Uhrichsville.

A 1979 graduate of Barnesville High School, Melody furthered her education at The Ohio State University before earning a Bachelor’s degree in special education from Muskingum University. She was a licensed intervention specialist in addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother “Lita” and homemaker. Melody was a devoted member of Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship where she was very active in serving the church. She lived her life for the glory of God, and her lifelong desire was to see Jesus face-to-face. Few people crossed her path without being touched by Christ’s love and seeing how much she loved Jesus and wished for them to know Him, too.

On August 31, 1985, Melody married Kris A. Dickey who survives her. She is also survived by children: Cherec (fiancé, Seth) Dickey, Zethan (Kristy) Dickey, Quinn Dickey, and Charayah Dickey; grandchildren: Zaron, Arielle, and Garrett Dickey; siblings: Melissa Livingston, Micah Burdette, and Morgan Burdette; mother-in-law, Phyllis Dickey; and many other extended family members including nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Robert Dickey.

Services, officiated by Pastoral Staff, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, at Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship. Interment will be in Mays Cemetery near Tippecanoe. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship. Memorial contributions may be made to Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship, P.O. Box 8, Uhrichsville, OH 44683.
