Maxine Knotts, 78, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from complications following a stroke. Born November 4, 1941 in Hazard, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Callie (Haney) Miller.
She is survived by her sons, Chad Knotts and Kirt (Christy) Page; grandchildren, Klaye Knotts, Vincent Page, and Kameron Page; brother, Joseph Miller; sister, Virginia Jones; many nieces and nephews; and her former spouse, Charles Knotts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nicole Kinsey; and three sisters, Mildred, Viola, and Ruth.
A longtime area resident, Maxine had worked many years as a nurses’ aide for several nursing homes. She attended Uhrichsville Foursquare Gospel Church and will be remembered as the kind of woman who would help anyone in need. She was a passionate fan of Elvis Presley who enjoyed going to yard sales and finding a good bargain.
According to Maxine’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the James Cancer Hospital Solove Research Institute.
