Mary M. Vosick, 88, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, was called home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, July 20, 2012 from the Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia, Ohio, following a lengthy illness. Born September 26, 1923 in Dennison, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Harry McKinley and Ida Belle (Garabrandt) LeMonte.
A 1941 graduate of Dennison, Mary lived in the Twin City area throughout her life and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville and its United Methodist Women’s group. She was also a member of the Twin City Senior Citizens. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who delighted in the time that she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing dominoes with her sisters and bingo. In her younger years, she worked at the Buckeye Hotel and then Twin City Hospital for a time.
Mary’s surviving family includes her daughter, Debby (Terry Bob) Wright of Uhrichsville; son, John (Jackie) Vosick , Jr. of Dennison; daughter-in-law, Karol Vosick of Tippecanoe; grandchildren, Tina (companion, Kirk Bloomfield) Richardson, Kelly (companion, Mike Mann) Downin, Marcia (Jim) Shamel, Erik (Wina) Hathaway, Johnna (Randy) Milburn, Travis (Leslie) Wright, Taylor (Danielle) Wright, Julie (companion, Joseph Streby) Vosick and Justin Vosick; seventeen great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry (Liz) LeMonte of Ozark, Alabama; sisters, Vivian Roahrig of Dillonvale, Ohio and Clara Mae Clark of Ft. Worth, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Alan Vosick; an infant son, Scott Edward Vosick; three sisters, Cecilia LeMonte, Dorothy Waites and Dolly Korns; six brothers, Lawrence, Charles, Ralph, William, James and Robert LeMonte; and a great-grandson.
Services for Mary, officiated by Rev. Larry Malterer, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663, in lieu of flowers.
