Mary Kay Rossman

Mary Kay Rossman, 66, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2012, in her home. Born February 27, 1946 in Dennison, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late James Orr and Helen Marie (Tharp) Garrett.

Mary Kay was a 1964 graduate of Uhrichsville High School, after which she worked as a secretary for the FBI in Washington, DC. Upon returning to Ohio, she worked numerous years for Garrett Computer Service (owned by her brother, Fred) in Cincinnati. She then returned to school at Kent State Tuscarawas and obtained her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1992. She worked as a nurse for several years at area nursing homes. Mary Kay was an avid card player with family and friends. She attended the Christian Temple in Uhrichsville.

She is survived by her only son, John Christopher Rossman of Penn Yan, New York. She is also survived by brothers and sisters: Henry Lewis Garrett of New Philadelphia, Donald L. (Marilyn) Garrett of Uhrichsville, Ronald Garrett of New Philadelphia, Carolyn (Larry) Anderson of Uhrichsville, Bonnie Craigo of Uhrichsville, Beverly (Bill) Langdon of Stillwater, and Jean Ann Padgett of Uhrichsville. Mary Kay also has numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: James Junior Garrett, Fred Harold Garrett, William T. Garrett, Betty Lerlene Best, and Estelle Best.

In observance of Mary Kay’s wishes, she has been cremated and a memorial service, officiated by Pastor Minnie Garabrandt, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Christian Temple in Uhrichsville, Ohio. Her family will receive callers at the church beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. A graveside service will be held in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 6. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Christian Temple, 4249 Belden Drive S.E., Uhrichsville, OH 44683.
