Mary Elizabeth Palandrani

Mary Elizabeth Palandrani, 99, of New Philadelphia passed away at Union Hospital on July 27, 2022. Born in Dennison on January 11, 1923 she was a daughter of the late William Marion and Lurah Gwendolyn (Renicker) Witting.

Mary graduated from Dennison High School in 1940. She and her husband owned and operated Coonies store from 1955 until 1975. Together they enjoyed trap shooting and auctions. Mary also liked quilting and was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

On May 2, 1942 she married Alfonso Joseph “Coonie” Palandrani who passed away in 1989. They are survived by their children, Jo Ann Marzi and Karen (Harold) Hill; grandchildren, Joseph (Marie) Marzi, Vincent (Jennifer) Marzi, Carla Ann (Damian Miller) Marzi, Dominic (Nancy) Marzi, Anthony (Maitri) Marzi, Gregory (Shanon) Hill, Sharon (Perry) Pounds, and Timothy (Gena) Hill; 26 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dominic Marzi, grandsons, Michael Marzi and Michael Hill; and siblings, Janice (Don) Cable, Eleanor (George “Dutch”) Wanosik, and Almeda (Dean) Pocock.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Monday, August 1 ^st with burial following immediately at 1:00 p.m. with a graveside service officiated by Pastor Kory Rowland in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery.
