Mary Ellen Keller, 79, of Dover, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Hennis Care Centre in Dover. Born April 7, 1943 in Washington, D.C., she was a daughter of the late Hugh Raymond and Mildred Eileen (Ham) Park.

Mary was a graduate of Suitland High School in Maryland before earning her nursing degree from Frederick Memorial Hospital in Maryland. She had a long career as a registered nurse, first at Fort Detrick in Maryland and later spending nearly three decades at Union Hospital in Dover. She was a longtime member of Dover First Moravian Church.

On April 24, 1965, Mary wed Donald Ray Keller whom she had met while doing her nurse’s training. They moved to Ohio in 1966 where together they raised their daughters, Donna Keller with whom Mary had resided, and Debra (Eric) Linton of Michigan. Mary is also survived by her grandchildren, Sam and Rachel Linton, whom she loved dearly; sister, Martha (Richard) Bostwick; cousin, Cynthia Glover; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband who died on December 31, 2005.

Services, officiated by the Rev. John Wallace, will be held at noon on Monday, November 14, at Dover First Moravian Church where Mary’s family will receive callers for an hour prior to the funeral. She will be interred beside her beloved husband in Dover Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Dover First Moravian Church’s Music Department Memorial Fund. Mary’s family wish to extend their deep gratitude to the staff of Hennis Care Centre and Crossroads Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care during her final illness.
