Mary Jayne Hoagland

Mary Jayne (Romig) Hoagland, 56, of Dennison, formerly of Lexington, Kentucky passed away peacefully at home on December 21, 2012, while surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 6, 1956 she was a daughter of the late Robert “Wilke” and Sonia Kay (Maxwell) Romig of Dennison.

She attended Indian Valley North High School and studied nursing. Mary Jayne then worked as a Nurses Aid at numerous nursing homes. Mary Jayne loved music, especially gospel, classic country, and bluegrass. Mary Jayne also enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets and coloring crafts.

In addition to her mother, Sonia Romig, Mary Jayne’s surviving family includes her husband, Chuck Hoagland of Lexington, Kentucky; daughter, Angela (Donald) Campbell of Louisville, KY; son, Eric Riley Hoagland of Louisville; siblings, Thomas (Barbara) Romig of Sycamore, Ga., Peggy (Roger) Roup of Dennison, Robert Alan (Donna) Romig of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Ruth Marie Combs of Dennison; aunts Virginia (Denny) Pozzi and Susan Maxwell, both of Dennison; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Marie and Raymond Maxwell and Robert and Ruth Maxwell; her mother-in-law Ruth Evelyn (Thacker) Hoagland; and brothers in law, Robert Phillips and Charles Edward Hoagland.

Mary Jayne’s family would like to thank the Dennison Fire Department for all of their help and care, and also would like to specially thank Kelly Morber for singing Mary Jayne Home.

In keeping with Mary Jayne’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation. A celebration of her life, officiated by Rev. Larry Malterer will be held on December 29th at 2:00 pm in the Grace United Methodist Church.
