Mary Jean Brown

Mary Jean Brown, 86, of Dennison, passed away on October 4, 2018 at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia following a period of declining health. Born March 1, 1932 in Salineville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late William Merle and Edith Irene (Davison) Raffle.

On October 25, 1948, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Edward Brown. Together they owned and operated Valley Mining Corporation and Brown Auger Mining Company. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1989.

They are survived by daughters, Kerry (William) Aubiel and Teena (Michael) Bracone; grandchildren, Cynthia (Scott) McCartney, Tammi (Frank) Cegledy, William K. Aubiel, and Michael Bracone, II; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Maddison McCartney, Maria and Sophia Cegledy, and Jaret, Kole, and William A. Aubiel; siblings, John Raffle, Donald (Ginny) Raffle, and Linda Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings, June, Shirley, infant sister - Cindy, Danny, and Tommy.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, private family services will be held. She will be interred beside her beloved husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Community Hospice.
