Marvin Bache

June 9, 1951 — July 26, 2010

Marvin A. Bache, Sr., 59, of Uhrichsville, O., formerly of Akron, O., died Monday, July 26, 2010 at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia, O., following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born June 9, 1951 in Dennison, O., he was a son of Betty Lou (Huston) Bache of Uhrichsville and the late Harold Arthur Bache, Sr.

Marvin was a graduate of Claymont High School in the class of 1969 and a longtime member of the Dennison Church of God. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and golfing. He was also passionate about giving back to his community and was a hard working volunteer with the United Way, volunteer fireman in Rush Township, and was a former Little League coach, having coached the “Cardiac Kids” All-Star team.

Marvin worked in the retail grocery industry for many years, beginning with the F.B. Maurer Market, before working for Stoll’s Country Cupboard until 1985. He then was a store manager for Giant Eagle, living in Akron from 1985 until 2008.

In addition to his mother, his surviving family includes a son, M. Allen Bache, Jr. and his wife, Nichole, of New Philadelphia; a daughter, Bethanie Arnold and her husband, Jeff, of Uhrichsville; grandchildren, Jacob and Kaden Bache, and Alexis, Mason and Logan Arnold; three brothers, Harold “Dunnie” Bache, Jr. and his wife, April, of Martinsburg, W. Va., Robert M. Bache of Uhrichsville, and Michael Bache, Sr. and his wife, Beth, of Uhrichsville; a sister, Debbie Cottrell and her husband, Pete, of Dennison; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a dear friend, Karen Lehigh Russell.

Services for Marvin, officiated by Rev. Dean Teal, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010 in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Tunnel Hill Cemetery near Bowerston, O.

Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Those wishing to honor Marvin’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Dennison Church of God and Community Hospice (the former Hospice of Tuscarawas County).
