Mark W. Slabaugh

Mark Wayne Slabaugh, 60, of Canton, was suddenly called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, from his earthly residence. Born August 1, 1960 in Orrville, Ohio, he was a son of the late Monroe and Helen Elizabeth (Doubledee) Slabaugh.

Mark was a 1979 graduate of Fairless Schools before beginning his long career as an auto body repair painter. He was employed by City Body Shop, Inc. for 26 years until his failing health forced him to retire. He enjoyed playing with his large collection of Hot Wheels and gardening, but most of all, he treasured the time that he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a longtime member of Bible Faith Fellowship in Mt. Eaton.

On September 26, 1987, Mark married the former Diana Lynn Downing who survives him at their home. He is also survived by two daughters, Olivia Ann Slabaugh and Brittany Nicole (Seth) Dickey; three grandchildren, Josslynn, Wyatt, and Colton; four siblings, Glenn (Kay) Slabaugh, Norman (Leona) Slabaugh, Alice (Lloyd) Hershey, and David (Mary) Slabaugh; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shelby; sister, Ruby Slabaugh; and sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Kenneth Kerby.

Pastor Rod McBride will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Monday, June 21, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Visitation is 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bible Faith Fellowship, P. O. Box 25, Mt. Eaton, OH  44659.
