Mark Andrew Hackney

Mark Andrew Hackney, 37, of Dennison, Ohio, passed away suddenly at his home from health complications on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Born January 14, 1974 in Columbus, Ohio, he was a son of Jenny (nee Seymour) Hackney of Caldwell, Ohio and the late David T. Hackney.

Mark was a 1992 graduate of Lakeland High School where he excelled at basketball. He continued to enjoy sports throughout his life whether playing himself or watching events after his health prevented him. He was a former employee of BarMet in Uhrichsville and a longtime member of the Full Gospel Church.

On May 18, 1996, Mark married the former Angel K Howell and cherished his relationship with her until her tragic passing on February 3, 2011. His surviving family includes his mother; four brothers, David Hackney of Caldwell, Brian (Stacy) Hackneyof Ormond Beach, Fla., Joe Hackney of Deersville, and Shawn Hackney of Steubenville; two stepsons, Joshua N. Bollon and Jacob V. Fawcett; his father- and mother-in-law, Michael D. and Betty L. Howell of Tuscarawas; brother-in-law, Michael D. (Terri) Howell, Jr. of New Philadelphia; sisters-in-law, April (Bill) Crites of Dennison and Carlene Howell of Uhrichsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Mark, officiated by Pastor David Koch, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Interment will be in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Those wishing to honor Mark’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Twin City Christian Service Center’s Food Pantry.
