Marilyn H. Bagley

Marilyn Helen Bagley, 84, of Dennison, was called home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born December 15, 1932 in Samaria, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Edson Riley Pratt and Violet Ruth (Corl) Pratt Blanchard.

On May 29, 1948, Marilyn wed the Rev. Vincent Ralph Bagley with whom she enjoyed nearly 63 years of loving marriage until his passing on January 27, 2011. A devoted pastor’s wife, she served the Lord alongside her husband in many congregations throughout the Midwest, most recently at Park Christian Church in Dennison. Marilyn enjoyed leading women through the scriptures and mentoring them spiritually. She was also an active Mary Kay consultant for many years.

Marilyn and Vince are survived by their children, Pat (Angelo) DeCarlo of Schaumburg, IL, Michael (Pam) Bagley of Kaleva, MI, and Kerrie (fiancé, Chris Cush) Schaffner of Dennison; grandchildren, Mindy (Michael) Joyce, Christen (Steve) Groth, Jillian (Dave) Perlick, Michael DeCarlo, Eric, Drew and Nicholas Schaffner, Alyssa (T.J.) Sterzer, and Lianne (Adam) Schroeder; and many great-grandchildren. They were preceded by a 10 year old son, Phillip, and an infant son, Timothy. Marilyn is also survived by her sister, Melva (Nelson) Cowdrey, and several nieces and nephews.

Services, officiated by Pastor Scot Caley, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, in the sanctuary of Park Christian Church in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Park Christian Church and Community Hospice.
